Home Standalone Editions
For those of you who have followed all the instructions on the previous page and find that the Home or Student Edition still won't work at home, we offer the Home Standalone Edition.
It has exactly the same content as the equivalent Student or Home Edition, but doesn't need to contact our servers – all of the content is on the disc itself.
You can request a cross-platform CD-ROM of the titles listed below by emailing, in the first instance, educationenquiries@hodder.co.uk. You will then be asked to send us a stamped self-addressed padded envelope for your CD-ROM. Or you can simply make a one-off download of the appropriate Mac or PC version from the links provided below.
If the disc you have does not appear in this list, it's probably because the content is not yet available – in any format. After the content becomes available in the Student or Home Edition, we will create the Home Standalone version and make it available on this page.
A Mac version of each PC title is available. Please make sure you download the correct version for your operating system.
PC download instructions
The files are provided as compressed ZIP files. Download the zip file and save it to your hard drive. (Do not attempt to open or extract the file direct from the link.)
Then unzip it. All the files are contained within a folder called "Dynamic Learning installer". A licence agreement and installation instructions are provided in that folder. Please read them. To install, just double-click "Start.exe" and follow the instructions in the installer.
Please note
If, after downloading, you see a message saying that the zip file is password-protected, try moving it to C:\ and unzipping there, rather than downloading it again. The zip files are not password-protected. Similarly, if it appears to unzip correctly but the installer says that files cannot be found, quit the installer, move the zip file to C:\, unzip it, and try again. The problem is usually caused by Windows XP's internal zip tool being unable to cope with deeply-nested folders.

Mac download instructions
The files are provided as compressed ZIP files. Download the zip file and save it to your hard drive. (Do not attempt to open or extract the file direct from the link.)
Once the file has downloaded, double-click it to open it with OS X's Archive Utility. A folder called "Dynamic Learning download" will be created. Inside you will find the licence agreement, a PDF of installation instructions, and a folder called "Dynamic Learning (Home Standalone Edition)". You can drag this folder to the desired location on your hard drive.
To launch the program, simply double-click "Start DL Home Standalone."
Only one instance of the Engine folder is required, which can run multiple titles, so if you have more than one Home Standalone title you can drag just the title folder (e.g. "AQA(A) Psychology for AS") into the "Dynamic Learning (Home Standalone Edition)" folder. The titles in this folder will be picked up by the Engine when you next launch the program.
